        2023年9月24日，第三届大西山文化季在北京西山森林音乐谷开幕。文化季以第三届跨文化交流研讨会之“跨文化交流与艺术设计西山在地创作”主题沙龙为开幕活动，其同名主题展览同期开幕。第三届跨文化传播研讨会增加了在地创作内容。活动邀请艺术家聚焦于在西山进行在地创作，并举办对谈沙龙分享艺术家的在地创作思想和经验，其在地创作的成果将在主题展览呈现。

The third Daxishan Cultural Season opened at the Xishan Forest Music Valley in Beijing, China, Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023. The opening event of the cultural season, the 3rd Cross-Cultural Communication Seminar held an artist’s dialogue on the theme of "Cross-Cultural Exchange and Local Creation of Art Design in Xishan", and its thematic exhibition of the same name opens at the same time. This year’s seminar has added a site-specific creation activity, which invites artists to focus on local creations in Xishan, and to share their thoughts and experiences at the dialogue salon.

这次在地创作活动，共有6位艺术家参与。艺术家们获得的关于西山的介绍资料是一样的，他们在西山实地考察的路线也是一样的，但是他们生发出来的理念和思想，以及他们创作的方式、手段、材料又是各不相同，展示了与西山文化内涵相同的多元性和丰富性。

Six artists were invited to participate in this site specific creation activity. Artists shared the same introductory materials about Xishan , and  took the same route for field trips to Xishan, however, the concepts and thoughts they generated, as well as their creative methods and materials were all different, diverse and rich, just like the cultural connotation of Xishan. 

在谈到举办活动的缘起时,第三届跨文化传播研讨会主题沙龙和展览总策划陈丽军女士说到：“音乐谷是西山文化的新文化，西山有如此丰富的自然和文化遗存，我们当代的人和过去的人应该有一个对话。当代的人去体会和了解过去的文化之后，进行一个反馈。这个反馈的方式就是创作，是以艺术家作品的方式来体现的。“　西山在地创作展呈现的这些作品是当代人和西山文化的一种跨时空和跨文化的交流。在谈到作品中的西山的中法文化内容时，她补充说：”在大西山的中西文化交汇历史上，有许多中法文化的传奇和故事，产生过优秀的人类文化成果。在艺术家的作品中，我们也可以看到中法文化的痕迹。从某种意义说，我们在这里做跨文化传播研讨会以及在地创作是对西山的跨文化交流历史的一种延续。”

When talking about the origin of the activey, Chen Lijun, the chief curator of the theme salon and exhibition of the 3rd Cross-Cultural Communication Seminar, explained:"Music Valley is a new culture in Xishan. Xishan has such rich natural and cultural heritage. There should be a dialogue between contemporary people and people in the past. After experience and understand the past culture, contemporary people would give some feedback. The form of this feedback is creation, which is reflected in the artist's work." The works presented in the exhibition are a cross-time, space, and cross-cultural exchange between contemporary people and Xishan culture." In the history of the intersection of Chinese and Western cultures in Xishan, there are many legends and stories of Chinese and French cultures, which have produced outstanding human cultural achievements. "In the artist's works, we can also see traces of Chinese and French culture. In a sense, the cross-cultural communication seminars and the site specific creations we do here are a continuation of the history of cross-cultural communication in Xishan." She added.

 

伊万•巴烈斯特罗斯 [西]

Ivan Ballesteros (Spain)

 

 

     伊万是建筑设计师、视觉艺术家、中央美术学院国际预科客座教授。1974年出生于西班牙马德里，伊万将自己定义为乐于了解不同文化的富有创造力的世界公民。2001他在西班牙加那利群岛的 ETSA获得城市规划设计学位，2006年在伦敦建筑协会（英国）的设计研究实验室计划 (AADRL)  获得硕士学位。2008年被Jurgen Mayer H.选中前往德国斯图加特进行为期9个月的前沿设计与建筑研究。2012年他来到北京，曾任职于几家中国公司，2016年在北京建立了自己的工作室。

 

        在他 20 年的建筑设计专业经验中，他赢得了多个奖项。与此同时，自 1998 年以来，作为一名活跃的视觉艺术家，他的作品在世界多个城市展出，其中包括如古巴的哈瓦那、马里的巴马科、美国德州圣安东尼奥以及中国北京等。2017年起在中央美术学院国际预科班（CAFA IFC）任教，担任空间工作室老师，在帮助中国学生申请国外建筑、室内设计、景观或舞台设计相关领域的著名艺术与设计院校。他教授并帮助中国年轻学生了解与适应西方的生活与学习方式，这些经验使他对中外在创意领域的教育方法的差异有了一定的了解。

 

 

 

Ivan Ballesteros defines himself as creative world citizen, always interested in learning about other cultures and all the good things each of them has to offer.

 

He studied Architecture & Urbanism at ETSA in Canary Islands, Spain, where he got his degree in 2001. From 2004 till 2006, He got his Master degree at the Architectural Association of London (UK) in the Design Research Laboratory Program (AADRL). He is selected by Jurgen Mayer H. to go to Stuttgart (Germany) for 9 months to continue his research on cutting-edge Design & Architecture In 2008. He moved to Beijing, where he worked for few Chinese Companies before establishing his own office In 2012. He has won several competitions along his 20 years of professional experience.

In parallel to his architectural career, He has been an active visual artist using different media since 1998, exhibiting in locations as variated and enriching as La Havana in Cuba, Bamako in Mali, San Antonio de Texas in USA or Beijing where he contacted China for the first time in 2008.

From 2017 he has been teaching at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing at the International Foundation course (CAFA IFC) as the teacher of the Spatial Studio, helping Chinese students to apply to some of the most famous schools of Art & Design abroad; in fields related to architecture, interior design, landscape, or stage design. His experience teaching young Chinese students and helping them to adjust to the western ways has given him a certain perspective on the differences between Chinese and foreign education methodologies in the creative fields.

陈勇是自由艺术家。工作生活在北京，毕业于清华大学美术学院。结业于中央美术学院实验艺术学院。主要创作涉及装置、数字绘画、影像等。他的创作理念是用当代的材料和手段表达观念和思考。他对当代的科技手段和材料的应用与转换感兴趣，认为使用它们进行创作可能会获得超越我们惯性经验的感受。

 

 

Artist Chen Yong lives and works in Beijing. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University. Advanced Course, School of Experimental Art of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.The main creations involve space installations, easel installations, digital paintings, photography, etc. His creative philosophy is to express ideas and thoughts using contemporary materials and means. He is interested in the application and transformation of contemporary technological means and materials, believing that using them to create may lead to feelings that transcend our conventional experience.

Liu Chengrong(China)

 

        艺术家、策展人刘城荣工作生活在北京，毕业于北京服装学院工艺美术系装饰艺术专业（主要学习金工首饰、雕塑创作）。具有多年景观雕塑类项目经验。2017年创立麦壳金属创客空间，进行金属工艺的实验与实践。作品强调多向性、综合主题性及具体情境、空间、场域的生发、在地性，常通过材料工艺的组合来使作品透出考究的气质，表达观念的同时也体现对场所、万物一种自然的尊重。其创作涉及雕塑、装置、生活美学等领域，参加多个大型展览。他还作为受邀艺术家与美术馆合作向公众提供创作和美学体验课程。

 

 

Artist and curator Liu Chengrong, works and lives in Beijing. Graduated from the Decorative Arts Department of the Arts and Crafts Department of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (mainly studying metalworking jewelry and sculpture creation). He has many years of experience in landscape sculpture projects. Founder of the Maike Metal Maker Space, focuses to conduct experiments and practices in metal crafts. The works emphasize multi-dimensionality, comprehensive themes, and the emergence and locality of specific situations, spaces, and fields. They often use a combination of materials and techniques to make the works reveal their elegant temperament. They express concepts while also embodying the understanding of places and all things. a natural respect. His creations involve sculpture, installation, life aesthetics and other fields, and he has participated in many large-scale exhibitions. He also works with art galleries as an invited artist to provide creative and aesthetic experience courses to the public.

苏怡文 [澳大利亚]

Yvette Stride (Australian)

 

       苏怡文（Yvette Stride），澳大利亚艺术家和教育家，目前在中国北京生活和工作，在北京国际学校 (ISB) 教授艺术。她拥有昆士兰科技大学美术学士学位、南十字星大学教育硕士学位（艺术），以及专业潜水教练协会(PADI) 的水肺潜水员教练认证。曾为许多机构工作过，多年担任教练和水下摄像师。

 

      她的艺术作品创作主要是对知识的追求，研究生活的神秘面如何体现在现实中。梦幻世界在她异想天开的艺术作品中变成了现实。来自自然世界的生物、宽阔的曲线、汇集的空隙和类似楔形文字的再次出现，成为她视觉符号体系的一部分。她沉浸于工作室工作、教学纪律和沉思实践中的艺术敏感性中， 她的目标是在开始创意过程和协作时平衡逻辑和直觉的力量。 她的艺术实践包括绘画、雕塑、摄影和装置。

 

Yvette Stride is an Australian artist and educator, she is currently living and working in Beijing, China, and teaching Art at the International School of Beijing (ISB).She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from Queensland University of Technology, and a Master’s in Education (Arts) from Southern Cross University, as well as a Master Scuba Diver Instructor certification with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), working for many years as an instructor and underwater videographer.

 

Yvette’s art-work is primarily a quest for knowledge, investigating how the mystical side of life manifests into reality. Dreamworlds morph into reality in her whimsical art works. Creatures from the natural world, sweeping curves, pooling voids and text resembling cuneiform reoccur as part of her visual symbology.

 

Yvette is immersed in her artistic sensitivities through her studio work, art teaching discipline and contemplative practices. She aims to balance logical and intuitive forces as she embarks on creative processes and collaboration. Her art practice includes paintings, sculptures, photography and installations.

        严超，独立艺术家/艺术教育工作者，工作生活于北京。

       他的绘画用抽象的形式将当代审美和中国传统绘画相结合，他以油画的方式绘出中国水墨般的流动感。艺术家意在描绘心灵具象的东西,而在画面却是抽象的视觉呈现。这种视觉呈现具有东方式的幽微细腻，兼具成熟的艺术语汇。他的作品让人感受到中国文化的意味，是他多年以来关注中国文化的艺术实践的结果。

       在艺术创作以外，他还积极参与艺术教育以及公益工作。他是联合国教科文组织亚洲非遗讲师，联合国开发计划署艺术关注艾滋病项目特邀艺术家；宋庄艺术发展基金会常任理事、中山“艺术未来”国际青年艺博会总策划。他是保时捷、民生银行、金茂府地产项目、浙江遂昌旗山在地艺术项目等众多机构的特邀艺术家，北京国际车展设计大奖赛评委。他的作品在北京、上海、广州、杭州、重庆、台北、台中、福冈、首尔、巴黎、柏林等地的艺术机构展览。其作品被海内外多家机构和收藏家收藏。

 

Yan Chao, an artist and art educator, lives and works in Beijing.

His works combine contemporary aesthetics with traditional Chinese paintings in an abstract form, and his oil paintings create a sense of flow like Chinese ink. The artist intends to depict the concrete things in the mind, but the picture is an abstract visual presentation. This visual presentation has an oriental subtlety and a mature artistic vocabulary. His works make people feel the trace of Chinese culture, which is the result of his artistic practice of paying attention to Chinese culture for many years.

 

In addition to artistic creation, he is also actively involved in art education and public welfare work. He is a lecturer of UNESCO Asian Intangible Cultural Heritage, a special invited artist of the United Nations Development Program Art Concern AIDS Project; he serves as a permanent director of the Songzhuang Art Development Foundation, and an international youth of Zhongshan "Art Future" Chief planner of the art fair; judge of Beijing International Auto Show Design Grand Prix.

 

He is a special invited artist of many organizations such as Porsche, Minsheng Bank, Jinmao House Real Estate Project, Qishan Site-specific Art Project in Suichang, Zhejiang. His works have been exhibited in art institutions in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Taipei, Taichung, Fukuoka, Seoul, Paris, Berlin, and other cities. His works are collected by many institutions and collectors at home and abroad.

赵祎 [中国]

      赵祎是北京服装学院首饰设计专业副教授、首饰艺术家，现居住工作在北京。2003年毕业于北京服装学院获得硕士学位，2009年赴比利时皇家美术学院任访问学者，2011年受邀赴荷兰Marzee珠宝画廊国际营学习，2017年参加国际珠宝历史学人课程培训。在教育领域，她获得过多项北京和全国表彰，参与主持过多项重要首饰设计研究项目；在首饰设计领域，她在意大利、比利时等国家获得大赛奖项，并致力于中外首饰设计的文化交流活动。她的首饰设计作品，让传统媒介有机地推陈出新，将传统文化与当代的个人生活构建动态的、积极的联系。        

 

       她还在一些组织和机构中担任角色，包括：中国传统首饰艺术品委员会委员、“青年设计100”青年设计师培养计划提名导师、艺术8“智慧之手”中法青年手工艺交流项目提名导师、Marzee国际首饰毕业展提名导师等。 

 

 

Associate professor of jewelry design at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, jewelry artist, living and working in Beijing. Graduated from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology with a master's degree in 2003, she was a visiting scholar at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium in 2009. She was invited to study at the Marzee Jewelry Gallery International Camp in the Netherlands in 2011, and participated in the training of international jewelry historians in 2017 . 

 

In the field of education, she has won many Beijing and national awards andparticipated in and presided over a number of important jewelry design research projects; in the field of jewelry design, she has won competition awards in Italy, Belgium, and other countries. And she committed to the cultural exchange activities of Chinese and foreign jewelry design. Her jewelry design works organically innovate traditional media, creating a dynamic and positive connection between traditional culture and contemporary life.

 

 She also holds positions in organizations and institutions including: member of the Chinese Traditional Jewelry Art Committee, nominated mentor for the "Youth Design 100" young designer training program, nominated mentor for the Art 8 "Hand of Wisdom" Sino-French Youth Handicraft Exchange Program, nominated mentor for Marzee International Jewelery Graduation Exhibition.
